SUMMER BODY CARE BEAUTY PRODUCT EMPTIES

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter £13.00 200ml – I always have some sort of thick body butter on the go, and The Body Shop butters are a classic formulation, which I go back to again and again. This scent is so good; I just opened the packaging and have wondered why I haven’t managed to repurchase this yet. If you haven’t smelt this yet, you have to go try it. Would I repurchase? Yes I love their formulations; I really want to try the Early-Harvest Raspberry one next.

Treacle Moon Those Lemonade Days Hand Soap £2.49 500ml – I’m not really fussed when it comes to hand soap, but I do have a favourite - the Soap & Glory one (review below.) This was nice, the scent really did smell like lemonade, but I wouldn’t run straight out to buy it again. Would I repurchase? Probably not as I like to change this up.

Soap & Glory Heels Genius Foot Cream £5.50 125ml – This product is a Holy Grail cream, I always have a backup handy of this in my beauty drawers. I apply this most evenings and it leaves my feet, especially my heels, softer and smoother. If my feet have had an extra hard day, I like to apply this and then put socks on, leaving them on whilst I sleep and in the morning that rough feeling has disappeared. I feel this foot cream is really affordable and haven’t really wanted to try anything else. Would I repurchase? Yes, always.

Make Believe Self Tan Lotion £24.50 200ml – This product always brings back nice memories because of the scent. It’s not as ‘biscuity’ as other Self-Tanners I have tried and just reminds me of that holiday summer scent. I’m not a big tanner, but when I do this gives my fair skin a nice colour and I don’t find it streaky at all. Would I repurchase? Yes, although I’m currently using a St.Tropez tanner.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Milk £10.00 500ml – This has to be my favourite Soap & Glory scent, the same as the Breakfast Scrub and Rich and Foamous body wash of oats, yoghurt and honey. I love the ease of this brand, the size of the bottle is amazing for the price and the pump makes me more likely to use it regularly. I like to use this straight out of the shower as it contains cocoa butter, Shea butter and coconut oil to nourish the skin. This product also comes in a buttercream form. Would I repurchase? Yes, I already have - read more here.

Soap & Glory Rich & Foamous Body Wash £6.50 500ml – Like I said this is my favourite Soap & Glory scent; I have reviewed this on my blog here. I love the sweet almond scent which lingers in the bathroom and on the skin for hours after taking a bath. The texture of the formulation is light and moisturising on the skin. It also works really well with the body milk and you can layer up scents. Would I repurchase? Yes this has to be my favourite body wash of the moment.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash £6.50 500ml – Another Soap & Glory scent which I love, I think I prefer this scent as a scrub, but it was still nice for a change. Again, all S&G body washes give moisture as well as making you smell amazing. Would I repurchase? I will continue to buy S&G body wash, I am currently using the Orangeasm scent. (Can you tell I like Soap & Glory?!)

Origins Ginger Burst Body Wash £19.00 200ml – I got given this product in a gift set as a present and completely fell in love with the scent. I really enjoy using Origins skincare, so this was my first taste into the body care range and I wasn’t disappointed.  I used this sparingly as my special occasion shower gel, as it’s too good to use every day. This body wash was really moisturising and lathered up on the skin really well. Would I repurchase? Yes, I’m in love with the scent.

Ayuuri Natural Coconut Body Wash £4.95 200ml – I received this product in one of my beauty boxes, Glossybox I think. I’m a big fan of anything Coconut scented and I really liked using this. I do admit I don’t go out of my way to purchase organic or natural products, but I will definitely look out for more as I enjoyed this as much as my usual picks. Would I repurchase? Yes if it was more accessible in the shops I go in.

Original Source Vanilla and Raspberry Shower Gel £2.30 250ml – This was just a basic shower gel I bought from the supermarket when I had run out of everything else. The scent was nice but I didn’t find it anything special. I must have been collecting these empties up for a while as I have tonnes of body wash bottles. Would I repurchase? Probably not, as I love buying Soap & Glory pump bottles.

Soap & Glory Scrub ‘Em and Leave ‘Em Body Buff £2.50 50ml – This is a little mini travel sized product I took on holiday with me. The scrub is abrasive enough to look after dry areas and leave me with smooth, supple skin. I like to use this in the shower and the scent is lovely. Would I repurchase? Yes I would buy the full-sized product.

Anatomicals Don’t Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It Body Scrub £3.49 200ml – This was another product I received in a Beauty box. I have tried Anatomicals products before, and I wasn’t blown away with the results. I think they are average for the price, but wouldn’t go out of my way to buy them again. The scrub smelt really fruity, but the scrub just wasn’t enough for me. Would I repurchase? No I didn’t get on with it.

I Love… Coconut & Cream Exfoliating Shower Smoothie £2.99 200ml - This product is another Supermarket purchase. The grains of scrub are quite sparse and I found it to be more of a shower gel to moisturise than to exfoliate. I really like the scent though and have also got the bubble bath. Would I repurchase? No, I like a more abrasive scrub.

Soap & Glory Wash Your Hands of It Hand Soap £5.00 250ml – This is the hand soap I go back to again and again. I always buy it as part of a 3 for 2, the scent is lovely and the product does what it says on the bottle. I received a gift set for Christmas which came with the accompanying hand lotion, which I also enjoy. Would I repurchase? Yes, I always make sure I have one  in my stock.

& Other Stories Fig Fiction Body Scrub £7.00 250ml – I really enjoyed using this product, this was my first taste of using the brand and I have gone on to buy more. I couldn’t get enough of the scent and the scrub did wonders to my skin. The only issue I have with it is that it’s very difficult to use in the bath and would work more cost effective in a squeeze tube. I really do like the whole look of & Other Stories packaging though. Would I repurchase? Yes, I have repurchased in a different scent.

FEBRUARY VALENTINES THEMED GLOSSYBOX 2013

This is a late review of my Valentines Glossybox, I've had a good amount of time to use all the products now so I feel I can review them in a little bit more detail. I really love the packaging design of the themed box (which I will definitely use again) and also the heart-shaped lollipop was a cute little extra. The product information also includes a step by step guide on how to rock a bold lip, which was nice to see. I've just received my March Glossybox and I'm really impressed, so i'll be sure to share that one soon.
Docteur Renaud Raspberry Soft Cream, Full-size 50ml £25.00 - I hadn't heard a lot about this brand before opening my Glossybox, but I have seen them displayed in a Marks & Spencer's beauty hall. I was a bit confused whether this was a moisturiser for your face or body, but it is for your face. I love the scent of this product, it smells just like a victoria sponge cake. I must admit it was a bit scary putting something so strongly scented on my face at first, but it is very gentle and smoothed my skin instantly. The product also seems to contain a lot of natural ingredients. 
Model Co Eyeshadow Duo in Bronzed Goddess, Full-size trio £18.00 - Again this is another brand I hadn't really heard a lot about. This little product is perfect for on-the-go girls that need to take a day time look to evening. It has a very handy mirror and the shades are very wearable, great for a brown smokey eye! The consistency of the shadows are of high quality but there seemed to be some glitter fall out when I applied them.

Micabella Cosmetics Blush in Siera Suede, Full-size 9g £34.95 - I really like how natural mineral blushes look on the skin. Micabella's collection is made of 100% natural mica. The pigments can be used as eye shadow, lip stick, nail polish, mascara, bronzer and highlight. This may seem like a small sample but I know this product will last me for ages. I received the shade Siera Suede, which is a lovely peachy pink that I think would look great for the summer months when you don't want to be wearing heavy make-up. It is quite hard to get the product out of such a small container, but I usual pat some out onto the back of my hand. The full-size seems to be quite expensive though, so I'm not sure I'd repurchase.
Anatomicals Body Cleanser, Full-size 300ml £5.00 - I enjoyed using the Anatomicals body scrub we received in a past Glossybox, so it was nice to see another product from them. I don't really see their products as a luxury, but they are nice for everyday use. It has a lovely scent of Rose and Jasmine which you can even smell after washing the product off. It's quite a thick consistency, so lathers up really well in the shower. I was impressed with the size of the sample and this isn't even the full-size! I also love the bright packaging and the play on words in their product titles.

Helen E Cosmetics Raspberry Lipstick, Full-size 3.5g £8.00 - Another brand that was new to me this month. I'm not really a fan of the packaging, but the product itself is really creamy and pigmented on the lips. I got the shade 'Raspberry' which is a really nice pinky plum and very flattering on my skin tone. I think this shade goes along with the Valentine's theme very nicely!

It's lovely to discover new brands and products I wouldn't have maybe picked up if it wasn't for Glossybox. However, It would be nice to see what other beauty boxes have to offer. What did you think of the Valentine's Theme? Have you tried any other Beauty boxes like Birchbox?

BEJEWELLED CHRISTMAS GLOSSYBOX - DECEMBER 2012

This months Glossybox is of course all about the festive season. It contains products to ensure us Glossies that we all look our most festive in time for the holiday celebrations! As a special holiday bonus they also included a limited edition Glossybox blush in Glossy pink which was a collaboration with Kryolan - which I thought was a nice touch to complete the box. The box also came with a Glossy 'newsletter' which I much preferred over the past cards that are normally in the box, as it seemed much more personal to the consumer and showed a lot more detail on each product inside. 

Rituals Magic Touch Body Cream, full-size 200ml £15.00 - The only other Rituals product I have tried is the Foaming shower gel which was in last December's box which I loved, so I had high expectations for this. I instantly have fallen in love with this body cream, it's such a fresh scented, rich cream of cherry blossom and rice milk. It just melts into your skin and leaves it feeling baby soft. I will be continuing to use this up, and I'm looking forward to maybe trying some other products from the range in the future.

Seche Nail Lacquer, 14ml £9.95 - Seche is a brand I have always wanted to try but have never got around to dipping my toe into. I got the colour Enamored, which is a lovely pink/gold shade. I have since gone and ordered the award-winning Seche Vite Top Coat as I was so impressed with the salon finish of this polish. I would highly recommend these lacquers, they are really pigmented and last so long on the nails.

Milk_Shake Conditioning Whipped Cream, full-size 200ml £11.95 - Milk_Shake is a brand which I hadn't heard of before seeing it in my Glossybox. This leave-in conditioner smells heavenly! You massage this into towel dried hair before styling to help protect and strengthen your hair. It really does make your hair feel incredible soft and shiny. The only downside to this product is the packaging as it produces a lot of product like squirty cream, but I guess that is the fun nature of the product. 
Sleek Makeup i-Divine au naturel palette, £7.99 - I was very excited to see this in my box this month. I have always wanted to try a palette from Sleek but have always left the shop without one, as I have many other palettes to use. I got the au naturel palette which I was very pleased about as it reminds me of some of the shades in the Urban Decay Naked palette - which is great to use everyday. 

Anatomicals Strawberry milkshake lipgloss, £3.49 - This is probably the product I found the least interesting this month. I have received Anatomicals products before inside my Selfridges Lucky bag and found them ok but nothing special. I will however use this up as it's handy to have in my bag for on the go. I would say that it is moisturising and has a nice fruity scent. Nice for the younger Glossy consumer.
I have really been enjoying what I received in my Glossybox this month, saying that I am never really disappointed. It was also a nice treat that I got this box for free as I had collected enough Glossydots to redeem. Added bonus! I wish everyone a Happy New Year and see you in 2013.

SELFRIDGES BEAUTY WORKSHOP LUCKY BAG CONTENTS

When I saw the Selfridges Lucky Bag advertised on their blog, I signed straight up to be alerted by email as I knew these wouldn't be around for long. After the success of their Beauty Box, (see my post here) I knew I wanted to get my hands on one of these as I enjoyed discovering and using new brands that I maybe wouldn't of picked up in-store, but I guess the contents of that box was guaranteed. With this lucky bag, you payed £15 for a random pick of 5 or more beauty products. There was a 1000 available on their website and a few of the bags contained a Beauty Workshop service card worth £150.

I have seen a lot of mixed reviews, but the bags are now sold out. The contents of my bag included, a mini Nails Inc nail polish, Anatomicals hand cream, Nail Art nail decorations, A pack of tissues, Beauty Junky strawberry face mask and anatomicals banana lip balm. I was fairly pleased with what I received, and thought it was an average bag from the other reviews I had seen. I was most excited about the Nail Art nail decorations as I had been looking at these in Topshop last week, which I thought was a bit of a coincident. I am also enjoying using the Anatomicals products, but I know you wouldn't think of Selfridges to stock such an affordable brand. 

I really like the concept of this Lucky Bag, I just wish that Selfridges had collaborated with brands that you imagine when you think of their Beauty Workshop. Maybe I have high expectations of Selfridges and was spoilt by their Beauty box, but I guess you get what you payed for. I believe a lot of people would of payed more for guaranteed high-end, quality sample products, as I think you can pick most of these products up from your local Boots. Maybe it would have been nice to find a sample size in your bag and then have the link to their website where you can buy the full-sized item. On their facebook page, Selfridges have stated that if your not happy with your Lucky Bag, you can return it for a full refund. I will be keeping mine as I feel I got my moneys worth, enjoyed the concept and liked taking the risk of what I might of received.
