CHLOE EAU DE TOILETTE

Chloe Eau De Parfum has always been my favourite, signature perfume. I have tried most of the fragrances from the Chloe line and I’ve liked them all, some more than others. I have been through a few bottles of the original scent, but have been without it in my collection for a while now. I had moved on to other things and really got into See by Chloe Eau de Fraiche which I have recently used up, I really need to repurchase it. After Christmas I saw on the Debenhams website the Chloe Eau de Toilette gift set on offer for £30.00. I had £5.00 to burn on my Beauty Club reward card, so for me it was a no brainer. A 50ml perfume and a 100ml body lotion for £25.00, you can’t really go wrong, the perfume alone costs £58.00.
Chloe scents are always delicate, iconic and centre around roses. I sprayed it once and was so pleased it was back in my life. I’ve never had the Eau De Toilette version but I love it. I believe the Eau de Toilette has been reworked and this version was released last year as an update. The Eau de Toilette is lighter and softer but still has the same gorgeous scent as the Eau De Parfum. Chloe is known for being a fresh and feminine fragrance and when I smell it, I know the scent straight away. The fragrance has top notes of Bergamot, Lemon and Magnolia. Heart notes of White Rose, Gardenia and Rose Buds and Base notes of Cotton Flower and Musk. I think I like it so much because Bergamot has to be one of my favourite scents. I think this is the perfect fragrance to wear as we come into Spring and is great as an everyday scent. I find Chloe perfumes so long wearing on my skin and original Chloe stays around all day. I love the classic packaging, this version comes with a white ribbon instead of the original pink one. I have seen that they have just released the Eau de toilette of Chloe Love Story, so that will be next on my list.

MARC JACOBS DECADENCE EAU DE PARFUM

Marc Jacobs know how to do fragrance! Their bottle designs are always on point, I’ve always liked the Lola scents and my sister is obsessed with Daisy, but maybe just a little too sweet for me. Decadence is the newest fragrance to their perfume line and is targeted to a more mature individual than his other scents. The bottle is just gorgeous, inspired by one of Marc’s iconic handbag shapes. I am a big on handbags so this bottle is made for me. It’s very glamorous in emerald green with a python patterned lid, it would go perfect with any outfit. Of course it looks stylish on my dressing table and I've been using it everyday since I got it.
The scent itself is woody and sensual and symbolises the ultimate in feminine glamour and sophistication. I can’t get enough of the scent, I would say it’s more of an evening fragrance but I would happily wear this all day long. But I think you can tell it's still a Marc Jacobs scent straight away. The scent contains Italian Plum, rich Bulgarian Rose and Liquid Amber. The rich and elegant formulation was created in collaboration with perfumer Annie Buzantian and Ann Gottlieb. It also contains Saffron, Iris, Sambac Jasmine, Orris Root, Vetiver and Papyrus Wood. I also like the packaging it comes in, a velvet emerald green box to match the bottle, I think I'm going to have trouble throwing this away.
I have the 30ml bottle which has a chain, but the bigger bottles also have a black tassel attached to them, It’s a new level of luxury! The 30ml bottle is £49.oo so it is a treat, but there's also a Christmas Gift Set with the 50ml bottle of perfume. I like quirky fragrances, something a little bit different which you aren’t going to smell in the street every day. When I do wear it, it seems to stay around all day. There is also a shower gel and body lotion in the range which would make the fragrance stay around for even longer. This would be great as a winter fragrance to wear at parties, I can see myself using this scent up quite quickly as I have already made quite a dent!

SUMMER FRAGRANCE - CLARINS EAU DES JARDINS

In my recent Selfridges Beauty Box, I found a product which I just fell in love with it's the Clarins Eau Des Jardins Smoothing Body Cream, it was definitely the stand out product for me! I had never really thought of trying a body cream from Clarins before as I just think of them as a skincare brand. But this is the great thing about beauty boxes, you find items you wouldn't normally buy yourself. I loved the body cream that much, that whilst I was in Duty free last month I spotted the matching Clarins Eau Des Jardins Fragrance in perfume form. I said to myself I didn't need another perfume but I couldn't resist this scent! The body lotion has as strong a scent as the fragrance and it lasts on my skin for hours which I love. It's great to use both products together to layer up the fragrance.
The scent is uplifting, fresh and just reminds me of Summer. The fragrance combines essential oils and plant extracts to create a fruity scent with notes of wild rose and comforting wood. It also contains etheric oils of grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, orange, citruses, black currant bud absolute, mint, bay leaf, along with dry oils of cedar, patchouli, vetiver and white musk. It's light on the skin but also moisturises, soothes and ensures skin is soft all day, it's suitable for all skin types. Clarins class their line of perfumes as treatment perfumes that not only leave you smelling lovely but soften and care for your skin at the same time and it's not greasy at all.
The scent is not overpowering and it instantly changes my mood from the first spray. I like to spray it straight after stepping out of the shower in the mornings. I feel Clarins fragrances are such value for money as I picked up this 100ml for £25.60 normally priced at £32.00. I really like the pebble shaped bottle, it's quite heavy so not ideal for travelling round, but I will be keeping this in my bathroom. It would even be nice to spray around the room before getting in the bath or shower, for a spa like feeling. This is definitely a Summer fragrance but I can see myself wearing it all year round. I used it everyday on holiday, great to use throughout the day or just for evening. There is also a shower gel in the line which I will have to try! I am intrigued to try out the other fragrances in the line now.
The body cream feels silky, it's lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. My body feels hydrated after using as well as scented. The indulgent cream is enriched with three organic buds to cocoon the skin with rich moisture. Beech Bud extract helps to improve skin hydration while Sorbier Bud extract boosts the skin's natural radiance. Blackcurrant Bud is known for its high antioxidant content and its soothing, comforting properties. The body cream is priced at £29.00 for 200ml, which is definitely a treat but I would repurchase and I know Clarins regularly do gift sets at discounted prices.
I'm so pleased I purchased the Selfridges Beauty Box as I wouldn't be without this scent now, for me there's nothing like it! Have you tried any of the Clarins fragrances?

A NEW SCENT - MY BURBERRY EAU DE PARFUM

I was a very lucky girl and received this gorgeous bottle under the tree last month. I have never been that interested in Burberry fragrances before, but after spying My Burberry up in Duty Free a few months ago I knew I had to add it to my collection. I didn’t buy it there and then as I already had my heart set on Chloe’s Love Story, but I’m so grateful to have received it for Christmas.
My Burberry is inspired by the iconic Trench Coat and its heritage of British Design and Craftsmanship. My Burberry captures the fragrance of a London garden after the rain. The top notes are Sweet Pea and Bergamot fuse with a Geranium Leaf, Golden Quince and Freesia Heart with a base of Patchouli and rain-tipped Damask and Centifolia Roses. The scent is contemporary, British and floral and I think it's really unique, stylish and refreshing. I would wear this fragrance either day or night as it's so wearable and it lasts for ages on my skin.
My Burberry is the newest perfume in the collection and was released in September 2014. I really like how floral the scent is, it has a modern twist by adding a pepper accent. The bottle reflects iconic details of the trench coat, a bold horn finish cap echoes its distinctive buttons and the hand-tied bow is English-woven gabardine, made from the same fabric as the coat and woven at Burberry’s factory in Castleford, Yorkshire. The colour is honey-beige, also taken from the cult trench. I love the little touches like the 'Woven in England' written on the back of the bow and the Burberry stamp underneath the lid. The bottle looks gorgeous on my dresser and really stands out among other fragrances.
Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne are the face of the perfume, photographed by Mario Testino and directed by Christopher Bailey. I think by using two of the most well-known British models but of different ages is a very clever move by Burberry. As it shows that the women the perfume is aimed at is of a broad scale and anyone can own a little slice of the brand. I received the 50ml bottle in a luxe gift set which also came with the matching scented body mist, which is lightweight and moisturising. It’s nice to receive a slightly different product than a body lotion. In the range you can also purchase, the fragrance shower oil, a fresh deodrant, a bathing soap set and a gold glow fragranced luminising powder, which looks so beautiful! You can also get the 90ml edition personalised as part of their monogramming service on their website, which would make a very special gift!

SOPHIA WEBSTER BIRCHBOX - DECEMBER 2014

December 2014’s Birchbox was a collaboration with accessories designer Sophia Webster. I love it when beauty boxes do different themed boxes as it really freshens up the concept and get's me even more excited for the contents. I really like the design of this box and is definitely one I will be keeping for storage. But it's what's in the inside that really counts;
Elemental Herbology Facial Glow Radiance Peel, full-size 50ml £40.00 – I haven’t really tried Elemental Herbology products in the past but I’m very excited to try this one as I’ve heard only good things. This product rejuvenates your complexion with natural actives derived from apples, papayas and orange peel. You massage this straight into your skin, I love the fruity scent! I leave it on for four minutes and remove with warm water and a muslin cloth. It's not too harsh on my skin and it really does refresh my complexion.
Electric Hair Hydrate Shampoo, full-size 250ml £17.50 – This shampoo helps to repair and improve shine with it's nourishing, moisture-rich formula. This isn’t a brand I have heard of before, but I’m always looking out to try new shampoos. I was really impressed by first use, it made my hair super soft, it built up good lather in my hair and the scent is lovely. The scent reminds me of professional shampoo, the formula is really thick and my hair feels like it's just been to the hairdressers.
Eyeko Fat Eye Stick, 4g each for the trio £16.00 – This is a great party season essential! I find these eye pencils so easy to work with, you can pop them in your bag and use them on the go. You can create a smoky eye in a couple of steps, you can even smudge the pencil out to create a more intense look. The formula is sparkly and pigmented and would look great on a night out teamed with a red lip. These eye sticks are creamy and have a retractable twist up applicator. I want to pick up some more colours for my eyes, I received the shade Smoke!
Benefit Christmas Cracker High Beam, full-size 13ml £19.50 – This is so cute! Inside the cracker is a mini Benefit’s bestselling High Beam, which is a liquid illuminator that suits all skin tones. Having these minis are so handy to just throw in your bag and the little bottle lasts for ages. I like to use this on the top of my cheek bones and underneath my brow bone. I always like my skin to look glowing and this is the perfect product to make it happen. It has a soft pink hue which is very complimenting on my skin tone, you have to blend it quite quickly though as the product builds up in one place. It’s also nice to add to your foundation or primer to create a dewy base.
Models Own Velvet Goth Nail Polish, 14ml £5.00 – Last month we got to pick what shade of nail polish we wanted to receive out of four different colours. I picked the shade Amethyst, which is a lovely dark purple. The formula is matte, yet sparkly and has a velvety finish which means no topcoat is needed. The shade is really unique and it like nothing I have already in my collection. I haven't tried any polishes in the Velvet Goth range before but was really impressed with the formula and I like the velvet lid of the bottle too.
English Laundry Signature For Her, full-size 50ml £60.00 – This scent is inspired by an English country garden – rose geranium and white flowers with hints of chocolate and jasmine. I have never heard of this brand before but it’s nice to try something different. I’m not a big fan of receiving perfume veils in beauty boxes, it would have been nice to have a bigger sized sample. I was really surprised how much I liked the scent and it last much longer than my usual scents. It's probably my favourite perfume I have received in a beauty box and will be going straight into my handbag!
As a cute little lifestyle extra, everyone received a Sophia Webster Purse, which is a leopard print pouch that would be handy to have in your handbag for any small loose objects or on a night out for your party essentials. Overall, I was really happy with my December Birchbox and was probably my favourite beauty box from last month.

SEE BY CHLOE EAU FRAICHE

Chloe Eau De Parfum was one of the first perfumes I ever wore in my early teens and still is one of my favourites to this day. I have continued to buy and receive Chloe fragrances over the years and haven’t found one which I haven’t liked, a couple of my favourites including the Rose edition and Love collection. See by Chloe was introduced in 2012 as the younger but still sophisticated scent to sit beside the main range. I knew I was going to like it, but when I did eventually smell it on a beauty counter I knew I had to take it home as the scent was just me.
See by Chloe’s newest member is Eau Fraiche Eau de Toilette Spray, which is the fresher and lighter version. Its notes include; Apple Blossom as the top notes, Water Hyacinth and Jasmine as the middle notes and Vetiver as the base notes. The scent is really feminine and floral, whilst staying modern and not over powering at all.
My signature scent recently ran out so I decided to buy this limited edition in duty free back in May and I haven’t worn anything since, which is strange for me as I normally like to switch up my fragrance every day. It’s the perfect Spring/Summer fragrance and I just can’t get enough of this scent, I don’t walk out the door without it. The only downside to this scent is that it doesn’t stay very long on the skin, or at least I can’t smell it throughout the day like you can with some perfumes. But I don’t mind spraying more, I guess if you want the scent to stick around go with the original version.
Apart from the fragrance itself, I really like the shape of the bottle – a gorgeous, iconic birdcage, which looks high-end pretty on any dressing table. I wish I had bought the same size bottle as I have in the original fragrance as I know I’m going to need to buy another bottle as I adore it that much. It is definitely going to be a favourite for a long time to come.
I love the look of the new fragrance from Chloe called Love Story which is coming out in September, I’m sure this one will be making it to my collection in no time.
You can buy See by Chloe Eau Fraiche 50ml or 75ml from large department stores and online.

VERA WANG - LOVESTRUCK FLORAL RUSH EAU DE PARFUM SPRAY

Vera Wang Lovestruck Floral Rush perfume is the newest fragrance in my ever growing collection. The scent is light, floral and youthful - with a sparkling floral bouquet that attracts with its juicy notes. The notes include; Champagne, Pink Pepper, Apricot Blossom, Pink Passion Flower, Marigold, White Freesie, Ambergris, Musk and Cashmere Wood. I think the scent is a very easy to wear, romantic fragrance. I would say the scent is still sweet like Lovestruck's little sister fragrance 'Princess' but a little more floral and mature.
I must admit I was drawn in by the packaging, it is a lovely addition to my dressing table and definitely stands out from other more simple perfume bottles that I own. I much prefer the lilac bottle and bow over the original pink Lovestruck design. The bouquet and bow means it's not very practical to carry in your handbag on-the-go but you can always carry it without the lid or transfer some into a Travalo.
The 30ml bottle is currently on offer at Boots for an absolute bargain £19.99 (normally priced at £35.00). I would definitely recommend picking this up whilst it's on offer if you are after a girly, everyday fragrance.
