LUSH VALENTINE'S DAY LOVER LAMP BATH BOMB

My last post was all about the Lush products I picked up this year for Valentine’s Day, one of the ones I had to try first was the Lover Lamp Bath Bomb. This bath bomb is not the most exciting to look at, but the red heart shapes in the white bomb are very cute. This bath bomb contains Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute and Brazilian Orange Oil. Everybody said this one smelt like Chocolate Orange but to me it was very subtle a little bit like Vanilla, maybe I didn’t get a strong scented one. Once the bath bomb hits the water, the bath turns to a milky white shade. At first lots of little red heart confetti comes out of the bomb and then as it dissolves some more three bigger red cocoa butter bath melt hearts come out and float on top of the water. I massaged these into my skin as they took ages to melt. I used the Prince Charming shower gel in my bath as well, which has to be one of my favourite shower creams I have tried from Lush so far. It turns my bath into a pale creamy pink colour which looked lovely. It felt really moisturising on my skin and was like I was in a bath of silk, this would be great on all skin types. It was such a nice bath to relax in, it dissolved really quickly but the hearts made it feel luxurious and reminded me a bit of the Yognog or Star Dust bath bombs from Christmas. It might have been nice if a different colour came out of the middle of it, but I enjoyed it as it is. This ballistic is priced at £3.95 each and I definitely think it’s worth it as you are getting the bath bomb and bath melts in one. I wish I had picked up a few more of these, they’re now out of stock online but I’m sure they will have a little stock left in bigger Lush stores and they still have some of the Valentine's range still online. Hopefully it will return next year! I’m looking forward to the new Easter products coming soon and hitting Lush Oxford Street next week.

LUSH SKYDANCER FAR FROM THE MADDING GUNS BATH BOMB

I'm really enjoying documenting my Lush products at the moment, it's a good way of remembering which ones have the biggest impact in the bath and recalling the ones I want to repurchase. My mum and sister picked me up the new Skydancer Far From The Madding Guns Bath Bomb not knowing it was a new product which I hadn't tried before, they just liked the look of it. Skydancer is actually the most recent charity bath bomb, where all the profits from each and every one of these will help fund equipment to satellite tag many endangered hen harrier chicks born in the coming years. Although I don't know a lot about fighting wildlife crime, hen harriers are England’s most endangered bird.
This bath bomb has a soft floral and liquorice scent and contains bergamot, Sicilian lemon and cinnamon leaf oils. The scent is not too strong at all, it’s really fresh and uplifting. I really like the bird shape and the contrast between the bright yellow and blue colours. Skydancer is a little bigger than your average bath bomb and is designed to glide across the top of the water so it looks like the bird is flying. I love the way the yellow underneath part quickly bubbles away leaving the bird to float on top of the water. It’s such a unique design and lasts for quite a while just fizzing away so it’s nice to get into the bath and enjoy it swimming around you. I’m not a big fan of the yellowy green colour you're left with in the bath, but the water is really moisturising on the skin. It also leaves a white foam on the top of the bath once the whole thing had dissolved.
I will definitely be repurchasing this bath bomb, not only is it for a good cause but I love how stunningly different this bath bomb is, I really wish this wasn't a limited edition. Skydancer is priced at £3.95 and still available online, I would definitely keep this for a special occasion or when I know I have the time to spend in the bath. You could even use half of this and take it out of the bath to use at another time. It's nice to know you've helped a cause and got something out of it too, it's also nice of Lush to give smaller charities some publicity.

LUSH BUBBLE BAR - POP IN THE BATH NEW FORMULA

I really enjoyed capturing my bath bomb last time so I thought I would try it again, this time with a bubble bar. Another product from Lush which I haven't tried before, Pop In the Bath Bubble Bar is a new formulation of the original bestseller. I like using bubble bars as you can split them into how many baths you want, reusing them again and again. I love the contrast between the bright blue and pink, it’s a simple design with the flower but they look great piled up high in store. I picked this one up from the Oxford Street store last month. You can break a piece off and crumble it under running water or use as much as you like to create more bubbles. I think using half the bubble bar creates enough bubbles for a pamper bath, but if it was just a regular bath time I would probably use quarter of the bar. The scent is zesty and floral and contains the ingredients, bergamot, lemon, mandarin oil and orange flower absolute, it reminds me of the Olive Branch shower gel. I really like the scent it’s uplifting and really refreshing, it reminds me of summer. The water feels so moisturising and very comforting. The water turns a turquoise colour, I think the colour is a lot more vivid than the old formula. The bubbles were still there once the water was drained out which was good as some bubble bars don't last as long as others. I think this is a great one to try if you haven't used a bubble bar before. It’s priced at £3.25 which I think is fair for the amount of baths you can get out of it.

LUSH OXFORD STREET EXCULSIVE - INTERGALACTIC BATH BOMB

I did a blog post last month about the products my sister managed to pick up for me from Lush on Oxford Street. I haven't managed to get to Lush Oxford Street myself as yet, but last weekend she kindly brought me back the Intergalactic Bath Bomb. I thought I would take photos of the bath bomb in action as it's a new and exclusive product to Oxford Street. I adore the look of this bath bomb, I love the shade of blue! It reminds me of a planet with the pink, white and yellow colours going all the way around it. Intergalactic is obviously themed around space and has a peppermint scent which is unlike any bath bomb I've tried before. I really like the scent, it's refreshing and awakening, but I can imagine it's not for everyone. It also contains cedarwood and vertivert oil so my skin was left feeling so soft when I got out the tub. As soon as I dropped it into the bath the water turned this deep blue shade, the lighter blue started fizzing out and all the other colours came out too. Whilst the bath bomb was spinning around my bath I started to hear a popping, crackling sound and realised it had popping candy inside. It took a good ten minutes for the whole bath bomb to dissolve, which I think is quite lengthy for a bath bomb. It definitely looked like space when it had covered the whole bath. Once I had got into the bath I could see that the deep blue water had masses of gold glitter in which just looked gorgeous. When I got out of the bath some of the glitter was left on my skin which looked lovely, but I wasn't covered in glitter which was good. This bath bomb is priced at £3.50, which is a little bit more than your average bath bomb, but so worth it for the bath experience. I will definitely be picking up this one again!
