LUSH VALENTINE'S DAY LOVER LAMP BATH BOMB

My last post was all about the Lush products I picked up this year for Valentine’s Day, one of the ones I had to try first was the Lover Lamp Bath Bomb. This bath bomb is not the most exciting to look at, but the red heart shapes in the white bomb are very cute. This bath bomb contains Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute and Brazilian Orange Oil. Everybody said this one smelt like Chocolate Orange but to me it was very subtle a little bit like Vanilla, maybe I didn’t get a strong scented one. Once the bath bomb hits the water, the bath turns to a milky white shade. At first lots of little red heart confetti comes out of the bomb and then as it dissolves some more three bigger red cocoa butter bath melt hearts come out and float on top of the water. I massaged these into my skin as they took ages to melt. I used the Prince Charming shower gel in my bath as well, which has to be one of my favourite shower creams I have tried from Lush so far. It turns my bath into a pale creamy pink colour which looked lovely. It felt really moisturising on my skin and was like I was in a bath of silk, this would be great on all skin types. It was such a nice bath to relax in, it dissolved really quickly but the hearts made it feel luxurious and reminded me a bit of the Yognog or Star Dust bath bombs from Christmas. It might have been nice if a different colour came out of the middle of it, but I enjoyed it as it is. This ballistic is priced at £3.95 each and I definitely think it’s worth it as you are getting the bath bomb and bath melts in one. I wish I had picked up a few more of these, they’re now out of stock online but I’m sure they will have a little stock left in bigger Lush stores and they still have some of the Valentine's range still online. Hopefully it will return next year! I’m looking forward to the new Easter products coming soon and hitting Lush Oxford Street next week.

LUSH CHRISTMAS - STAR DUST BATH BOMB

I love trying new bath products from Lush, I’m always excited about new arrivals and have to try them out at least once. There are so many products I am yet to try! Star Dust is a new bath bomb this Christmas, it may look quite simple from the outside but I was eager to see what this one did in the bath. Star Dust is shaped like a star and reminds me of the silver glitter bath melt from other years, which hasn't come back this year. I must admit I picked up this one because of the cute shape, but it also reminds me of Butterball which is one of my favourites.
I was quite disappointed on how quickly this bath bomb dissolved, it wasn’t around for very long. I’m not sure if this was to do with having the water too hot, (as it was warmer than usual) but it was over so fast. Once the bath bomb touched the water the bath bomb started to turn the water an ice blue colour, with a layer of white foam over the top of the water which looked just like snow. Then the best bit was lots of multi-coloured stars coming to the surface, which filled the bath with confetti. These little stars were moisturising on my skin and I liked the way they looked pretty in the bath.
The bath bomb has a very simple scent. It contains sweet Fair Trade Ugandan Vanilla and Rosewood oil. As well as Bergamot oil to uplift and cleanse your body and mind. I really liked the fragrance of this one it wasn’t too much, just enough to fragrance and comfort the skin. The oils definitely softened my skin. Lush say on their website that this would be a great one to pamper yourself with after a Christmas party. I can also imagine children liking this one, they would be amazed by the tiny stars appearing out of nowhere and the scent is gentle enough for their skin.
This bath bomb is priced at £2.95, which is a little cheaper than your average Lush bath bomb. But I think the price is reflected on how long it lasts in the bath. I would be interested in trying it again, but I don’t think it’s my favourite Christmas bath bomb.

LUSH SKYDANCER FAR FROM THE MADDING GUNS BATH BOMB

I'm really enjoying documenting my Lush products at the moment, it's a good way of remembering which ones have the biggest impact in the bath and recalling the ones I want to repurchase. My mum and sister picked me up the new Skydancer Far From The Madding Guns Bath Bomb not knowing it was a new product which I hadn't tried before, they just liked the look of it. Skydancer is actually the most recent charity bath bomb, where all the profits from each and every one of these will help fund equipment to satellite tag many endangered hen harrier chicks born in the coming years. Although I don't know a lot about fighting wildlife crime, hen harriers are England’s most endangered bird.
This bath bomb has a soft floral and liquorice scent and contains bergamot, Sicilian lemon and cinnamon leaf oils. The scent is not too strong at all, it’s really fresh and uplifting. I really like the bird shape and the contrast between the bright yellow and blue colours. Skydancer is a little bigger than your average bath bomb and is designed to glide across the top of the water so it looks like the bird is flying. I love the way the yellow underneath part quickly bubbles away leaving the bird to float on top of the water. It’s such a unique design and lasts for quite a while just fizzing away so it’s nice to get into the bath and enjoy it swimming around you. I’m not a big fan of the yellowy green colour you're left with in the bath, but the water is really moisturising on the skin. It also leaves a white foam on the top of the bath once the whole thing had dissolved.
I will definitely be repurchasing this bath bomb, not only is it for a good cause but I love how stunningly different this bath bomb is, I really wish this wasn't a limited edition. Skydancer is priced at £3.95 and still available online, I would definitely keep this for a special occasion or when I know I have the time to spend in the bath. You could even use half of this and take it out of the bath to use at another time. It's nice to know you've helped a cause and got something out of it too, it's also nice of Lush to give smaller charities some publicity.

LUSH BUBBLE BAR - POP IN THE BATH NEW FORMULA

I really enjoyed capturing my bath bomb last time so I thought I would try it again, this time with a bubble bar. Another product from Lush which I haven't tried before, Pop In the Bath Bubble Bar is a new formulation of the original bestseller. I like using bubble bars as you can split them into how many baths you want, reusing them again and again. I love the contrast between the bright blue and pink, it’s a simple design with the flower but they look great piled up high in store. I picked this one up from the Oxford Street store last month. You can break a piece off and crumble it under running water or use as much as you like to create more bubbles. I think using half the bubble bar creates enough bubbles for a pamper bath, but if it was just a regular bath time I would probably use quarter of the bar. The scent is zesty and floral and contains the ingredients, bergamot, lemon, mandarin oil and orange flower absolute, it reminds me of the Olive Branch shower gel. I really like the scent it’s uplifting and really refreshing, it reminds me of summer. The water feels so moisturising and very comforting. The water turns a turquoise colour, I think the colour is a lot more vivid than the old formula. The bubbles were still there once the water was drained out which was good as some bubble bars don't last as long as others. I think this is a great one to try if you haven't used a bubble bar before. It’s priced at £3.25 which I think is fair for the amount of baths you can get out of it.

LUSH OXFORD STREET HAUL

When I heard a new Lush Store was opening on Oxford Street I was very excited to see sneak peeks of all the new, exclusive products all over instagram and twitter. As I hadn’t got any plans to visit London, my sister kindly managed to get me a couple of products that were on my wish list. It was also nice for her to pick for me, so I didn't know what I was getting. My Sister picked well as she chose the three most interesting products on my list. The product I was most excited to try was the Pink Flamingo Reusable Bubble Bar. This pink and orange flamingo shape on a stick is similar to past bubble bars like the Magic Wand, Bubble Beard and Drummers Drumming where you wave it under the tap or in your bath water to create bubbles. I love how cute this looks, it’s so girly and it been cocktail inspired so it smells really sweet. It's filled with fragrant Rosewood and Ylang Ylang, so it's really relaxing as well. The bubble bar is quite pricey at £5.95, but you do get value for money as this can be used over and over again. The bubble bar creates lots of bubbles and turns the water a lovely shade of pink.
Harriet also picked out for me the Sacred Lotus Bath Bomb. I wanted this one as it looked so unique to anything else I've tried from Lush. It looks just like a flower with a yellow centre and purple petals around the side, this one is priced at £3.50. I really like how this bath bomb floats across the top of the water. It’s main ingredients are Neroli and Jasmine and certainly helps to uplift my mood. This bath bomb fizzes and creates white and purple foam. I really like the sweet, floral scent of this bath bomb. Sacred Lotus left my skin really moisturised and I got out feeling comforted. I'm surprised this managed to stay in one piece, as it's really delicate.
The last product is The Experimenter Bath Bomb which is so unusual. This multi-coloured hexagon was one of the first new products I saw via Instagram and knew I had to try it. It has a combination of colours including; pink, blue, purple, white and gold and the scent just reminds me of bonfire night! It’s main ingredients is Vetivert Oil and creates a smoky aroma. It also contains Tonka and Vanilla Absolute which brings sweetness to the bath. This bath bomb creates amazing colours in the water and quickly turns to every corner. The Experimenter also contains popping candy which you can hear as the bath bomb turns. This bath bomb is priced at £3.75 which I think is good for the size of the bath bomb.
I can't wait to experience the Lush Oxford Street store for myself when I next go down to London and hopefully I will pick up some more treats on my wish list. I'm also really excited to try the Frozen bath bomb, the Yoga Bomb bath bomb and the Intergalactic bath bomb. I also want to try other products from Lush as I always tend to go for bath bombs and bubble bars, I have seen that they have started doing candles! *books train tickets*

CURRENTLY IN MY BATHROOM - NEW IN

Us girls spend a fair amount of time in the Bathroom and I'm always adding new products around my bath. There have been a few new products recently which have stood out to me, which I have been reaching for again and again.
Mio Skincare Liquid Yoga Bath Soak, 200ml £26.00 – I have been lusting after this product for a while now. After upping my game in the exercise department I have justified buying this product for my achy joints. I add a cap full of this to my baths in the evening after the gym and relax. I didn't think the formula would come out a grey mud colour but the scent is lovely and rejuvenating. I'm such a bath person that this bath soak is perfect for me. It really helps to calm my body as well as my mind and my muscles feel so much better and less tense after getting out of the bath. The soak contains Magnesium-rich Epsom salts and Arnica and the scent is spearmint, cypress, lavender, mandarin and chamomile essential oils to ease stress and anxiety. I also find the formula really moisturising.
Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche Shampoo, 250ml £14.90 – My hairdresser recommended this product to me the last time I went to the Hairdressers. I have used Kerastase before and my mum uses the original all the time, but I don't think I've used this formulation which is ideal for highlighted hair. Like all other Kerastase products this smells amazing! It helps my hair feel moisturised, supple and controlled. My hair feels protected, super soft and it helps bring back shine lost with washing. I like to use this shampoo every other time I wash my hair to ensure my colour lasts for longer.
Oral-B Pro 2000 Electric Toothbrush, £69.99 – I have just brought a new electric toothbrush. I did used to use an electric toothbrush but after going to university it was just easier to use a manual toothbrush. But I decided to get an individual electric toothbrush and can really see what a difference it makes. I really like the new CrossAction brush heads as they make my teeth feel super clean. I also like that the brush provides a short stutter every 30 seconds and a longer stutter after 2 minutes of brushing, so you know you have spent enough time cleaning. This toothbrush is currently half price at Boots.
Lush D’Fluff Shaving Soap, 70g £5.75 – I got this product in the Lush Sale as part of a Christmas set. It’s not normally something I would pick up separately. I like to use the L’Occiante Almond Oil when shaving but haven't really found a proper shaving cream I enjoy using. This shaving soap is strawberry scented and contains cocoa butter, coconut oil, golden syrup and egg whites so it creates a gorgeous scent in the bathroom. It makes my skin super smooth and it may be a little pot, but a little goes a long way. You can even use this as a body wash as it's really conditioning to the skin. I will definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out.
Aussie Shower Smoothie Body Wash, 250ml £2.99 - I have always enjoyed Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner, so when I saw a Body Wash was being launched I knew I had to try it. This scent smells exactly like the Miracle Moist Shampoo as it contains Australian Macadamia Nut Oil. There are four different scents to choose from but this was my favourite and the formulation foams up nicely and leaves my skin super soft. The only thing I would change about this product is the bottle, I prefer a body wash with a pump as its easier to use in the shower.

LUSH CHRISTMAS HAUL

Back in October I made a huge order on the Lush website when all of their Halloween/Christmas Seasonal stock became available, see my Halloween haul hereI decided to try some of the new items from this year which I haven’t tried before. There were quite a few new products which caught my eye this year, in different shapes and scents, which was nice to see as I’m such a big lush fan.
Bath Bombs have to be my favourite Lush products, so Dashing Santa and Butterbear went straight into my basket. Dashing Santa is shaped like Santa and his presents which is designed to move across the water when you place him into your bath. This one smells of satsumas and citrus and it left the water red with gold shimmers which made me feel really Christmassy. The Butterbear bath bomb is just so cute! This has the same vanilla fragrance as the butterball, just in a new teddy bear design. This bath bomb doesn’t give the bath much colour but it has Cocoa Butter in it which is so moisturising on the skin. This is one of the more affordable bath bomb and I would definitely buy it again as I can’t resist the bear shape.
A product I wasn’t too sure of was the Snowman Fun Kit just because I haven’t tried the concept before. I was really surprised of how much I enjoyed using it and have created one snowman so far, you can see him on my instagram here. Hopefully by the end of Christmas I will have a whole snowman family. I’m not sure I would find it as fun if I just had one colour of Fun though. But I really like how you can use it in a number of different ways as shampoo as well as soap. It’s moisturising on the skin and smells great! I’m sure kids would love this, it’s also a great stocking filler.
Another fun product which I have been trying out is the Snowman Shower Jelly. I have tried a shower jelly before after receiving it in a Christmas gift. It wouldn’t of been a product I would normally pick up, but I really enjoyed having something fun to use other than the usual shower gel. I’m really in to its blackcurrant scent and it lingers on my skin for a while after showering. It is a little tricky to keep hold of him during shower time, but I like to break a piece off to avoid any wastage. It does lather up really well though and makes my skin soft and clean.
I also picked up a few bubble bars, I went for Holly Golightly and The Christmas Hedgehog. Holly Golightly is massive and could be broken up into so many pieces to use in separate baths. It’s a shame mine got broken a little in delivery, but it still is lovely to look at. This bubble bar is super glittery on the outside and bright green on the inside. It turns your bath water green and makes so many bubbles, you really get value for money with this one. I’m not quite sure of the Christmas hedgehog, the scent isn’t really my thing. He still makes my skin super smooth, but he doesn’t crumble as easy as other bubble bars do. It is a shame as he is rather cute!
I'm really looking forward to repurchasing a few of my favourite products in the Lush Boxing Day Sales. Have you picked up anything from the Christmas Lush collection?

SOAP & GLORY ACCESSORIES - JUMBO MASSAGE GLOVE AND A BRUSH WITH GREATNESS

Soap and Glory has to be my favourite brand to find in Boots. My collection of S&G products is out of control, (it's even won a competition!) I can't help buying the latest products to hit the shelves and trying them out for myself, as I know I won't be disappointed. I'm no stranger to their accessories line and a couple of weeks ago I found a couple of new products to add to my hoard.
Jumbo Massage Glove - £8.50 can be used on damp skin in the shower with shower gel or body scrub, or on dry skin with body butter or lotion. I believe this product has just been repackaged, but it has definitely become a firm favourite come bath time. It also claims to help with tight muscles and cellulite.
A Brush With Greatness - £6.50 can be used on damp skin, ideally with a little cleanser. Surface-sweep first with the bristles and rinse. Then gently massage with the reverse side to stimulate circulation. Before I bought this I used the S&G face massage mini mitt on days that I didn't want to use my Clarisonic. I feel using a DIY facial mitt can really help to boost my circulation and makes my skin feel super soft after use. A Brush With Greatness is a step up from this with bristles for an even deeper clean and a handle for easy use.
What are your favourite S&G accessories?
